Sweet Note Bakery, purveyor of gluten-free NY-style bagels, is rebranding to The Greater Knead to better reflect the CEO and Founder Michelle MacDonald’s mission to inspire change in the food industry. The company, which has recently relocated to Bensalem from their original headquarters in Manayunk, encourages their customers to “Eat Confidently” with their line of non-gmo bagels that are not only gluten-free, but also free from the top common food allergens: A first in the marketplace. 30% of Americans are consuming gluten-free products, and 15 million Americans currently have food allergies. These statistics continue to grown each year, and The Greater Knead helps to support both of these demographics.

In more than 700 + retail locations, the local small company has gone from selling to local grocery stores, to nation wide chains such as CVS, Whole Foods, Shop Rites, Weis Market, etc. The Greater Knead also sells a variety of other bagel flavors on their website that are not found in the marketplace such as blueberry, pumpkin spice, rainbow, and tomato basil. They hope that by putting a variety of transparent products in the market place, it will encourage consumers to make a shift at the checkout counter.

“We all have the power to make a change when we shop,” say The Greater Kneads CEO and Founder. “Consumers are unaware of what goes on behind the curtains of the food industry, and we want to pull the curtain back. By making this knowledge more available, coupled with putting better products into the market place, we want consumers to feel empowered to make a much “kneaded” change.

The Greater Knead will be holding their Grand Rebrand celebration on September 29th, 2016 at their manufacturing facility starting at 11:00a. Amy M.B. McKenna, President of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, will be speaking at the event. The Greater Knead is located at 1690 Winchester Road Bensalem, PA 19020.

Our Company
Formerly known as Sweet Note Bakery, The Greater Knead was founded in 2012 when Michelle MacDonald set out to recreate a gluten-free authentic New York-Style bagel after both her sister and grandfather were diagnosed with celiac disease: An autoimmune disorder that causes damage to the lining of the small intestine. After succeeding, she furthered the process by making her bagels free from the top common allergens. The Greater Knead manufactures bagels in their facility located in Bensalem, PA.
