The Solid Wood Cabinet Company & Habitat for Humanity Upcycle Together
Habitat Bucks to Expand Langhorne ReStore with New Vanities from Solid Wood Cabinets

Sponsor: Langhorne ReStore - Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County
Author: Beth Brody, beth@brodypr.com

Family owned, local kitchen retailer, The Solid Wood Cabinet Company, has joined forces with Habitat for Humanity to help local families save money and do some good. Solid Wood Cabinets has donated $100,000 worth of vanity cabinets to the local Langhorne ReStore location. The cabinets will support the Langhorne Restore when they launch the grand reopening of their remodeled 30,000 square foot space at 1337 East Lincoln Highway, Levittown in the coming months. ReStore is the gently used home improvement outlet run by Habitat for Humanity to raise contributions for their charity work.

The Solid Wood Cabinet Company supplies over 4,000 new kitchens a year to local families and have also partnered with Habitat for Humanity ReStore to allow their customers to donate their old cabinets to a wonderful non-profit and potentially get a tax write off. As a double benefit upcycling the old cabinets helps the environment by keeping them out of a landfill.

About Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of retail. ReStores are independently owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity organizations. Proceeds are used to help build strength, stability, self-reliance and shelter in local communities and around the world.

About Langhorne ReStore

The Langhorne ReStore is operated by  Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County. The mission of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County (Habitat Bucks) is, “Building Communities, Empowering Families.” Habitat Bucks has an open-door policy: All who believe that everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to volunteer to lend a helping hand.

The Habitat Bucks Homeownership Program provides an opportunity for low-income families to build strength, stability and self-reliance by partnering with Habitat. Habitat homebuyers contribute a minimum of 200 hours of sweat equity during the construction of their homes.

Since 1990, Habitat Bucks has built 103 affordable homes in Bucks County. Through its A Brush with Kindness home repair program, Habitat Bucks also makes repairs and minor modifications that preserve an affordable home and make it safe. Revenue from Habitat ReStores provides a source of sustainable funding for the construction and repair of homes.
